This was arguably one of the worst experiences of my life. The staff at this facility must absolutely love getting a power trip out of dehumanizing patients. I would first like to give a giant middle finger to Dr. Maaz, who insisted on extending my stay an additional week despite my stable condition, coherence, and voluntary admission. This man wanted me to stay longer so I could "learn my lesson." Mind you, I was here for SI. The nurses and social workers are incredibly condescending, treating me as if I am not an educated and competent woman, which is unacceptable. You could stand in front of a nurse for 25 minutes waiting for help, and they won’t even address you or look at you. Additionally, I experienced improper documentation regarding my medications; the nurses tried giving me medication without explaining what I was being given, the side effects, or the dosages. I had to ask for a document to explain the medication, and the nurse couldn't even clarify it because she was clueless. I called out their poor assessments of patient wellbeing because there is no way you can gauge improvement in mental health by asking the same five questions and only spending 2 minutes a day checking in on a patient. I had to push to be seen by my social worker and doctor, who also "didn't have time for me," even after the nurse informed me that I had the right to speak with my doctor upon request. These nurses meet every morning to assess your wellbeing in a private room without you, and during this meeting, they discuss whether they can begin your discharge process if you are doing well enough. How can you decide whether I need to stay at this place if the people discussing me aren’t even meeting with me? I had to beg for staff to talk to me because I had no clue what was going on. Nobody is on the same page at this facility; nobody could provide a solid answer about my doctor's schedule or when I would be seen by a nurse. Sometimes I waited hours before I could receive an answer to a basic question. I was discouraged from pushing back against the doctor’s recommendation to stay an additional 5 days because, despite being voluntary, they threatened to place me on an involuntary hold. I am genuinely disgusted by this place. Shoutout to Austin (with the nice smile), one of the few nurses who genuinely seemed to care about his patients. Thank you, I appreciate it. I would give this place zero stars if I could. My beautifully spirited roommate was my guardian angel throughout this process and was the only reason I was able to bear the burden of being here. If you're struggling with severe depression like I am, this place will worsen it.

This facility is an absolute nightmare. My partner was admitted on a 5150 and instead of getting help, they were completely dehumanized. The staff here treat people like they're less than human--rude, cold, and completely uncaring. They tried to pressure my partner into signing documents with zero explanation, taking advantage of someone in crisis. That is disgusting. They constantly lied to us about when my partner would be discharged, stringing us along until I had to practically harass them just to get the truth. It felt like the entire system here was built to trap people, not help them. Their "treatment" is nothing more than keeping people locked up, miserable, and powerless so they can keep billing insurance and government money. It's predatory, manipulative, and cruel. If you care about your loved one, do everything in your power to keep them out of this place. They will come out worse than they went in. This facility is a disgrace to healthcare.

Children have been placed into prolonged and unnecessary involuntary holds, often against their will and without adequate justification. These extended confinements, sometimes due to improper documentation, have driven excessive insurance charges while exposing children to experiences that families describe as deeply traumatic. Instead of receiving proper care, many children are leaving these facilities emotionally harmed, which makes it difficult to substantiate allegations of the need for such holds. Please read Customer Experiences and personal trauma of the children and thier parents throughout this websiite.
WARNING - PLEASE READ BEFORE SENDING A LOVED ONE HERE. I am writing this review because what my family has experienced with Aliso Ridge Behavioral Health Facility is deeply disturbing and needs to be investigated. My brother is currently a patient here, and I am extremely afraid for his wellbeing. In his first week, he was taken to the ER with a concussion, and the facility did not even think to notify our family. He has now reported that he has been SEXUALLY ASSAULTED while in their care, mentioning that he was heavily medicated during this time. We were alarmed to learn that patients are often sedated and that there are NO cameras in sleeping areas, leaving extremely vulnerable individuals UNPROTECTED. Since then, I have spoken with a mother whose daughter is currently a patient at this facility, and she reported eerily similar concerns regarding sexual abuse while sedated. When multiple families report the same type of allegations, it should not be brushed off as COINCIDENCE or dismissed due to their mental state. What is especially concerning is how quickly patients who speak up are labeled 'crazy,' intimidated, or discredited due to their mental health status—making it incredibly easy for serious allegations to be ignored. This facility has a documented history of LOSING ITS LICENSE IN APRIL OF 2025 related to keeping patients against their will for profit, falsifying documentation, and mistreatment of patients, which includes improper documentation of patient care. That alone should concern anyone considering sending a loved one here! The lack of transparency, the heavy use of medication, the absence of cameras in sleeping quarters, and the repeated reports of abuse create a picture that is extremely troubling. Until there is a full, independent investigation, I strongly urge families to think twice before trusting this facility with the care and safety of their loved ones. FURTHERMORE, IF YOU OR ANYONE YOU KNOW HAVE EXPERIENCED ANY MISTREATMENT FROM ALISO BEHAVIORIAL HEALTH, PLEASE CONTACT THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY, STATE AND SHERIFF!! FILE A REPORT IMMEDIATELY (EVEN IF DELAYED)!!! I BELIEVE JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED FOR ALL OF THOSE INVOLVED IN THE NAME OF GOD!!! I pray for protection over anyone who is currently admitted here. Vulnerable people deserve protection—not silence.
